ank You to Our
lass Advisor
Dear Ms. Maureen Hunt,
As the Class of 2001 moves on , we sincerely want you to know that you will always have a special place in our hearts. We thank you for everything you have done for us. Who will ever forget the “indoor” Luau/Barbeque or rainy car wash? You helped us with the socials, the prom, and the MHS Crafts Fair and guaranteed us many happy memo¬ ries. Managing to stay calm most of the time, you helped us to persevere and succeed. You have worked to be a part of each and every one of our lives. With enthusiasm and humor, and yes, even sarcasm, you have been more than our teacher, more than an advisor, and more like a friend.
We are your first graduating class and are the products of your dedication over the past four years. It is impossible to imagine you ever forgetting any of the times we shared together. We love you and appreciate the gifts of sacrifice, of time, of energy, and of caring that you have shown us. We will always remember you.

And a Special Thanks to
The class of 2001 would like to thank Mr. Michael Lightbody for his dedication and hard work over the past four years. From the Spirit Day team to Junior Varieties, Mr. Lightbody has contributed endless hours to the Class of 200 1 . He worked on every aspect of “A Night At M.H.S.” He not only coaches the varsity field hockey team, but also announces the hockey games and announces and helps out at the home football games. Mr. Lightbody, as a member of the Social Sciences Department and member of the 1986 Malden High Class, has shown the Class of 2001 what a Malden High School diploma can do for each of us and what we can accomplish with a little determination and a strong personality. The Malden High Class of 2001 would like to thank Mr. Lightbody for all he has done for us.
Mr. Michael Lightbody
Mr. James Valente has been an English teacher at Malden High School for the past six years. To the senior class of 200 1 , he has proved to be more than a teacher. He is well- known and respected by our class as a friend and role model. He has given us his courage, respect, and time to help make our last four years a success.
As a friend, Mr. Valente is here, from 6:00 in the morning through 3:15 when his day ends. No matter what time it is, he willingly gives his help. When Junior Varieties came around, he was one of the first volunteers to raise his hand to help us out. The show would not have been a success without his hard work and dedication. It takes a special person with a lot of heart to give up his personal time to help the students.
As an informal counselor, Mr. Valente has been there for our personal help whether it was family matters, friends, depression, or just plain stress. B321 has always had an open door for anybody’s concern. Through his advice and concern, he took an interest in the lives of the students of our class, pointing us in the right path to the future.
Thank you, Mr. Valente. You will always be remembered.
Ms.Ma ri lynEbmoretsky
Mr. James Valente
We would like to thank Mrs. Domoretsky for her lasting support and contributions throughout the past four years that the Class of 200 1 has spent at Malden High School. Mrs. Domoretsky has helped with and attended numerous class activities such as socials, Junior Varieties, car washes, and crafts fairs. In organizing these events with Assistant Principal, Mr. Feldman, she has made many memories possible for all of the Class of 2001. Along with lending an enormous amount of time in the morning and after school with student issues and events, she is a dedicated and respected teacher. Mrs. Domoretsky is certainly a valuable person who has worked closely with Mr. Feldman could not do for the last eight years as an assistant. We acknowledge and appreciate her long commitment of time and effort.

Dedication
MR. FELDMAN THROUGH THE YEARS
Responsibility and accountability. . .these two words echo through the halls as the class of 2001 passes by. They are the words of wisdom handed down to us, the class of 2001, by our Assistant Principal, Mr. Feldman. From the first day of school, freshman year to the last senior assembly, Mr. Feldman has been instilling in us "responsibilty and accountability" qualities that will follow us throughout our entire lives. Years after the class of 2001 graduates, the responsibitities that Mr. Feldman taught us will continue to make each one of us grow stronger as individuals. He not only stressed these values, but remarkably exemplified them each day. Mr. Feldman has seen this class through the hard times and that is why we are dedicating our yearbook to him. Mr. Feldman patiently sat through Junior Varieties practices, given up his weekends to help with Craft Fairs and car washes, and even now he is busily calling our homes, reminding us to stay on track. Over the past four years, Mr. Feldman has made a lasting impression on the lives of every
member of the 2001 gradu¬ ating class through his fair¬ ness and sincerity; we would like to thank him for giving us the values and ideals that will remain with us in our future endeavors. Whether we attend college, join the service, or enter the work force each of us will take a part of Mr. Feldman's character with us.
Kim Nguyen President
As we look ahead towards our future, remember that the past is always there to look back on. Reminisce on the good and bad times that were shared through our 4 years at Malden High, knowing that there will be more to overcome and to surpass. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to represent this class for the past 4 years, once as secretary, now as president, with spirit, pride, integrity, and especially with humor! I truly appreciate it! I hope that all of your wishes and dreams come true, and that all the goals that you all have set out for yourselves will be achieved! Once again, thank you and good luck!
Linda Espitia Vice President
I want to thank the class of 2001 for making the past four years such a memorable experience. I would like to wish all of you the best that life has to offer and hope that each of you take advantage of every opportunity that is placed in your path. We can all proudly say that through every event, we've pulled through with a sense of humor and also a sense of victory. The opportunity that you've given me to be your Vice President for two years has been worthwhile. There could not have been a better class to be a part of than the Class of 2001. We have come to the end of one great experience of our lives and we walk to the next with our heads held high. Thank you personally for the memories that will remain with me for many years to come, I will miss you all!
Hien Nguyen Co-Secretary
Thank you for electing me secretary for the Class of 2001! It's been an honor and a privilege. Life is full of surprises, but always remember... keep your heads held high. With the hours you've spent in the cafeteria listening to the "Accountability and Responsibility" speech, it can't be that bad. Good Luck Class of 2001! You are the greatest!
Amanda Goggin Co-Secretary
From the Freshman Barbecue to the Senior Prom, our past four years have been full of unforgettable memories. As we leave the halls of Malden High for the last time, we'll look back at the Spirit Days, Socials, Junior Varieties, Car Washes, and Craft Fairs. We will not be saddened by the end of our high school years, but happy about the friendships we've made and good times we've shared. Thank you for electing me Secretary of our senior class and good luck to everyone in the future.
Claire Leabman Co-Historian
Cindy Howard Co-Historian
Entering high school as a freshman I had no clue as to what Malden High had in store. These past four years as Co-Historian have been memorable and I'm glad I was chosen to help preserve our class events. Ranging from the freshman BBQ and to finally the prom, myself and the other Co-Historians were more than happy to be there, camera always in hand. 1 will miss the Class of 2001 always. Good luck in all that you do.
P.S. Smile for the camera!
Anthony Cicolini Co-Treasurer
For my final thought as Historian I want each of you to know what an impact you've had on my life and those around you. The closeness of this class is beyond words, it has been remarkable. These past four years will help shape the rest of our lives and the friendships we've made have been so strong and so powerful, it will be hard to move on. I want to thank you all for these past four years, for the laughter, the tears and the memories that made up the Class of 2001 . Lastly, I thank you for the opportunity to capture the moments that will forever be close to my heart.
Hau Tran Co-Treasurer
First, I have to thank the Class of 2001 for electing me treasurer for the past four years. I truly do appreciate it. 1 have to say this is one heck of a great class. This class has always been great from spirit week, to the class carwash, to the best Junior Varieties ever. I would also like to say thanks to our own class advisor Ms. Hunt. She has been there for us since the beginning. One more thing to the Class of 2001, this our final year at Malden High, let's make it the best one. Class of 2001 you rule!
I would like to thank the Class of 2001 for electing me class treasurer. It has been an honor to work for the student body as well as the school. I wish that my fellow graduating classmates will achieve success, obtain good luck and,- prosperity in the future. 1 also hope that other classes have the same pride r and honor that I have found in my position for being able to help and contribute to my classmates and school. 9

junior Varieties As you can see, it took a lot of hard work and effort to get this show to be the best it was. As much as we worked, before, during, and after school, we always had the time to have fun and enjoy each moment, not only with our friends and castmates, but also with the faculty that helped us through it all, and made it happen! Just look back and remember all of our memorable acts: from "Britney Spears," "Ladies Night Out," "The Chorus," "Blue + Gold Man Group," to " N'SYNC," and the "Carwash."
"A Night at MHS" brought us all very close. Some students would surely say, "Junior Varieties was a second home to them."
In all, through laughter and frustration, we worked as a team and accomplished what is said to be, "The best Junior Varieties Malden High has ever seen."

"The kids that stayed the entire season, played exceptionally hard."
Coach Cullen
Captain Rick Bethelmie broke an MHS record with 5 touch¬ downs and 368 yards in one game.
Check out this move!
Everybody smile for the camera!
What a pass!
Take your best shot!
Alright guys, this is the plan.
Look at the form on this kid!
This year was a great success!! The record didn't express our hard work and dedication. Whether it was at practices and or games,
everyone showed up as a team to show their interest in the sport. There were some tough games that were played against good teams. The hard work paid off and we ended the season with
moral victories!
"Good, better, best;
never let it rest till your good is better and your better is best."
Save this shot!
Wow.... look at that!
Do we look good or what?
Nice Kick!
Somebody got cut up!
It's just me, you, and the ball now!
"Eighty percent of success is showing up." Woody Allen

The Malden High Girls' Soccer Team can be described as champions of the inner spirit. Team work is an essential part of the game. Whether playing on the field or cheering on the sidelines, everyone is a participant. The team has been a ded¬ icated group of young athletes contain¬ ing positive attitudes toward the sport.
No matter if the outcome was not victor¬ ious, the team maintained their stead¬ fast determination.
The lasting impressions made through the past four years have continued to build on the foundation of Girls' Soccer at Malden High School. As the senior team members of the graduating Class of 2001, such as Krystal Rowley, Leigh Hupfer, Elizabeth Elliott, Kathleen Donoghue, Claire Leab- man, Melissa Mann, Mary Kearney, Mich¬ elle Berte, and Geneivieve Ferratusco, leave the field, new and returning teammates will join forces and take on the respon¬ sibility in the stride to rebuild against all odds. —Leigh Hupfer

Death cannot kill what will never die.
Our memories of you will last for all time.
We will all remember her angelic smile We ll step back in out lives and think for a while
The times we laughed and chilled for a day The secrets weyve kept and never let stray To me thatys friendship and you will see That you have always meant the world to me These things happen and we never know why. But for you Vll think smart and always try I know you see us day by day
To help us walk our path in a high and noble way
The friendship we shared to last all time Like vines of ivy together they twine The bond we all shared , could never be broken The love we have for her , need not be spoken Only celebrated in thought ,
In the hundreds of warm memories she has brought.

Looking Back
The paths are changing again.
Once more its time to move on.
It's hard to imagine our lives, when everyone is gone.
We've been through it all together, in the past few years.
Learned more about ourselves and each other, Through happiness and tears.
Been there to guide each other. Through the good times and the bad.
Always there to make you happy,
Make you smile when you were sad. When things got tough,
We pulled together and made it through. We always worked together. Friendships like these are very few.
As freshman we came to MHS,
With many questions to be asked.
Our lives and emotions put to the test. And guess what, we've passed.
Here we are as seniors.
Ready and willing to explore. Although we have no idea.
What our lives may have in store. Quickly approaching the end.
We have to make it known.
We couldn't have made it this far.
If we were out there on our own.
Mr. Feldman taught us, "Accountability and Responsibility,"
Helped us stand out in a crowd.
Our hope now is that.
We have all made him proud.
Ms. Hunt was there to guide us,
We couldn't have asked for more,
"Hola, Senora!" Are the words to speak.
As you pass B-3-2-4.
Mrs. Domoretsky was always there.
As our friend and our mentor.
Always standing there to say hello.
Or give a smile outside her door.
Now, as we prepare for graduation.
We hope to stay in touch. Throughout our lives.
That we know will change so much.
This isn't good-bye Malden High School,
Our time has just begun.
Our memories live forever in these halls.
We are the Class of 2001
